But, like before, there is growing resistance from people who call themselves “freedom fighters”. Investigative journalist Isabel Oakeshott and communications expert James Melville are among their number. Once upon a time they fought over Brexit, but that tiff is ancient history. All over the world, left and right are coming together to fight a common enemy: authoritarian states. And, in a stunning development, these two reprobates have opened “The Speakeasy” - an underground establishment full of illicit free speech and debauched thinking, hidden somewhere in the heart of London. Word has it that The Speakeasy will explore the big things that affect people everyday, away from vested interests and the eyes and ears of the State.
