An upcoming DJ emerging from the vibrant underground deep, soulful and tribal house scene in the U.K. Since Funky House permeated the radio waves with songs such as 'Donae'o' - Devil in a Blue dress' and 'Fish Go Deep - The Cause and The Cure' Kofi Amah was entranced by the sounds and sought to find more about the genre.
Frustrated by the obscurity of the genre among his peers, Kofi began learning how to DJ in order to hear the songs that he loved played the way he wanted. He began to learn his craft, whilst at Royal Holloway, University of London, under the alias of 'DJ K.A.N'; playing a vast range of musical genres, such as Hip-Hop, Bashment and Garage, to their urban crowds in the neighbouring area. However, it was the House sounds that Kofi was truly interested in playing.
Whilst in his final year, Kofi began to produce and host his own radio show entitled 'The House of K' - a multi-genre music show where he utilised the opportunity to showcase his mixing and musical knowledge in an laid-back and refreshing manner. After graduating, Kofi envisioned that the House of K could be branded, expanded and focused on the house music he loves. He began collaborating with a like-minded DJ by the name of 'PNN' and the two pushed each other to experiment and develop their playing styles and personas, thus the pair emerged known as Danny Mowe & Kofi Amah.
The Duo quickly sought for underground radio airtime as a training ground to hone their skills and soon ended up on the fulham-based Ice Cold FM radio station where they presented a weekly 2-hour show: The House Invasion Sessions. Additionally, Kofi started a new series of mix cds entitled 'The House of K Editions', finally merging his brand with the music that started it all.
These are just the baby steps to much larger movements in Kofi Amah's career only time will tell where his journey into house may lead him...
