This coming summer students will have the opportunity to travel to Paris, France and explore the city’s connection to African American arts, letters, and culture. The course, led by Associate Professor Vershawn Young from the Department of English and the African American and Africana Studies Program, will allow students to visit and tour locations in and around Paris; hear special guest lectures; and learn about the past and present influence of black life in the city of lights.
Applications for the course are due this February 2014. If you’re a student who would like to learn more, check out the course page, download this informational Power Point, or contact Thomas Teague at UK’s Education Abroad office.
