S01 E05 – The Imperial Mode of Living – Meeting Markus Wissen

Professor Markus Wissen, who co-authored a book with Ulrich Brand, titled, “The Imperial Mode of Living: Everyday Life and the Ecological Crisis of Capitalism”, visits the CJC podcast studio to speak with Southern African journalists Onke Ngcuka and Alexandre Nhampossa.

In the discussion, Professor Wissen explains to the audience that the lifestyles of the global north have had a significant impact on the lives of the global south. These imperial modes of living include, driving, extracting fossil fuels and relying on them, eating patterns etc, to name a few.
