#003: π Becoming an Untriggered Mother with Alex Pin
Picture this: You come home after a long, busy day, and walk in the house. You're tired, and all you want to do is quietly relax. But the moment you open the door, you trip over shoes by the door. Then sees coats piled in the hall. The living room isn't much better and the kitchen looks like a tornado blazed through.
What do you do next? That is the real question. Do you
a. exhaustedly clean it up yourself
b. shrug and fall down on the sofa, ignoring it and hoping it will fix itself
c. shout until everyone in the house comes running, and then yell at them that you're not the maid and they need to clean their own mess
d. gather your husband and kids and calmly explain the requirements of cleanliness you expect and why it matters
Being able to choose how react when you're under stress is the difference between being triggered, or untriggerable. Alex Pin, a parenting coach specializing in motherhood, teaches practical calming techniques and principles to help you learn how to get through those stressful times without becoming angry and/or damaging your relationships with your loved ones.
Alex's four key steps to calm responding:
πStep 1 - Calm your triggers
ππStep 2 - Support yourself
πππ Step 3 - What is it really about
ππππStep 4 - Connection
