The exploitation of child actors goes far beyond the recent "Quiet on Set" docuseries that exposes minors being mistreated on set. For as long as kids have been in the entertainment industry the door has been open for adults to take advantage of their childhood innocence and talent. Shirley Temple and Judy Garland both suffered long-term effects of exploitation from their parents, cast members and producers. They were both the face of America during the prime of their acting career, and no one would've guessed the harmful things they went through.
