Everybody has a reality show these days. I have to laugh because "back in the day", having a reality show was a joke. But as time went on, reality shows took a turn for the good (okay not all) and suddenly the "R" word was kinda cool. So by the time 2006 came around and we were approached for our own, it wasn't so bad. At first I declined because myself nor my kids were interested in becoming "famous". I mean at this point, we were already "infamous" in our own way but nobody wanted to be a "movie star".
But producers convinced us that this would be a good thing "for the dogs" and 14 years later, I would have to agree. Our reality show on Animal Planet, "Pit Bulls & Parolees" has been a great thing for our dogs and not only has it shown them in a positive light but we've been able to help so many dogs that are not even Pit Bulls.
But we were not prepared for what it would do to us humans, especially me. All the attention and lack of privacy was expected but not to the extent it is now. Here I thought we were just doing a "little show about dogs" and it became something much more. And it is because of this that I've become very guarded and private and yeah...probably even paranoid.
So where does Kate Gosselin (TLC's "Kate Plus 8" fit in to all of this? Way more than even I knew. She is definitely my "sister from another mister" HA!
