This series of podcasts has been produced to provide visitor information and inspiration for the Stour Valley area. In the first podcast we hear from artists who live and work in the Stour Valley with the aim of inspiring visitors to come and explore the area (after lockdown has finished). It features contributions fro Maggie Hambling, Jenny Hand, Emma Roodhouse, Mark Bills, Jane Lewis, Nat Young, Sarah Milne, Sarah Pugh, Sam Luxford, Roy Freer, Sally Freer, Margaret King, May Cornet, Penny Hughes-Stanton, Ruth Philo and Terry Flower.
The Stour Valley is a picturesque landscape, including the Dedham Vale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), offering an array of activities and places of interest. From hiking and cycling, museums and art to locally produced food and crafts, the valley has something for everyone. With a wealth of history and heritage that can be explored through the valley’s many historic churches and archaeological sites, as well as beautiful nature reserves for wildlife spotting, the valley provides a calm and tranquil landscape for exploring.
These podcasts have been produced within the ‘Improving the Stour Valley for Visitors’ project, which aims to broaden awareness and build brand identity of the Stour Valley as a visitor destination, and provide quality information and service facilitation for visitors.
The Improving the Stour Valley for Visitors project is funded by LEADER: The Rural Development Programme for England, which on turn is part funded by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development.
