Amity Shlaes is a syndicated columnist and directs the 4% Growth project at the George W. Bush Presidential Center. Shlaes also teaches about the economics of the 1930s for the M.B.A. program at New York University's Stern School of Business. Shlaes has written three New York Times best-sellers, The Forgotten Man: A New History of the Great Depression, The Greedy Hand, and Coolidge, a biography of the 30th American president.
