Welcome everyone to our second episode of the Cowgirl Channel of Canada. We are so excited to share with you this special interview with one very special Canadian Cowgirl Mona Lewis. Mona grew up in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. A place that will take your breath away. Horses are simply her life ! And still are to this day! Mona became a full time coach and trainer at the early age of 18. Mona also became very passionate about learning the discipline of reining. Mona’s love of teaching grew, and she is well known for coaching some of the best riders in the Maritime provinces today. Mona and her husband Dan built a beautiful stables in the Coxheath Hills of Cape Breton where they still live today. 1997 Mona took her, Jay’s Flashy Jac to the NRHA Futurity! That is a career highlight and something only some dream of achieving. Mona has ridden and trained with some of the greats over the years, and continued to compete in reining achieving some amazing accomplishments throughout her competitive years. In 2014 placing 8th in the final NRHA standings. Mona’s a certified level 2 Western Performance Coach, Clinician and Equine Judge.
