The European Union’s ambitions to achieve climate neutrality by 2050 will mean people will have to be upskilled and trained to achieve those ‘extremely ambitious’ targets .
That’s according to Fine Gael MEP Sean Kelly who was speaking in the European Parliament in Strasbourg.
MEPs today debated the EU’s new climate package which includes a wide range of proposals to help the bloc significantly reduce its greenhouse gas emissions over the decades ahead.
Sean Kelly says new educational and training programs will have to be rolled out to upskill the likes of plumbers, builders, engineers and electricians.
