Not every choice has to be well thought out, over examined, and agonized over. Sometimes all it takes is one accidental step to open up a new world you’d never have thought possible.
That’s what happened to Leigh Anne Jasheway when she accidentally became a comedian in her late 30s. She then ditched her job and moved across the country to create a non-traditional career with comedy at its core.

Leigh Anne Jasheway, M.P.H. (master of public health/mistress of public humor) is a stress management expert and stand-up/improv comedian. For the past quarter century, she has spoken at 30-40 conferences and workshops every year and is a member of the Association for Applied and Therapeutic Humor (AATH).
She is the author of 28 books, including Don’t Get Mad, Get Funny; 101 Comedy Games for Children and Grown-Ups; Date Me, Date My Dog; and The Stressed-Out Woman’s Guide to Letting Go with Laughter. She won the national Erma Bombeck Humor Writing Award for her true story on how her first mammogram caught on fire. She runs an improv troupe slowly and founded the annual NW Women's Comedy Festival.
