Leadership Episode 1 - Hernando Mayor-Chip Johnson “The Mayor with an open door policy”
Being a leader doesn’t mean you need an official title. Leaders are found in every facet of life and great leaders have a deep routed desire to help others. This week’s guest is the epitome of a selfless leader that does not require a title. Hernando’s Mayor, Chip Johnson prefers to go by Chip, and he is the most accessible Mayor that I have ever known. In our interview he tells about his humble beginnings, his time in the military, and the path that eventually led him to politics. Chip grew up in Desoto County and he never forgot where he came from. He explains some of the challenges he has faced and how he has endured. Chips discusses everything from running a cleaning company, to working in the mental health field, to losing an election, finding the love of his life, becoming a Grandfather and eventually being re-elected as mayor on the next election. Chip gives us a behind the scenes look at what has developed him into the person he is today and the person he is becoming Myself and SRP are forever grateful for the Mayor’s time and gracious interview. If you are a fan of leadership then I know that you will not only enjoy this interview, but I am certain that you will have plenty of takeaways you can use in your personal lives.
