Joachim Kroll, also known as the "Ruhr Cannibal" or "Duisburg Man-Eater," was a notorious German serial killer active during the 1960s and 1970s. He was born in 1933 and died in prison in 1991. Kroll's crimes were horrifyingly gruesome, as he murdered, mutilated, and often cannibalized his victims. He was convicted of eight murders but confessed to more, claiming to have killed at least 14 people. Kroll's heinous acts shocked the nation and left a lasting impact on the collective consciousness of Germany.
