Episode 10 - Beyond Compliance: Taking a Strategic View of Health and Safety in Your School

Join us for Episode 10 of The Safer Schools Podcast where we discuss the importance of having a plan for health and safety in your school, including:

• The size of the problem in the Education sector (using the latest statistics from the HSE)
• The benefits of aiming ‘beyond compliance’ in health and safety and how you can work towards gold standard without breaking the bank; and
• How to compile your health and safety strategy using the HSE’s HSG65 management system as a framework.

For each phase of the management system (i.e., Plan, Do, Check, Act), we discuss what ‘ticking the box’ looks like vs. going beyond compliance, with plenty of practical examples thrown in, together with links to guidance documents and templates to support you.
