John 11:17 So when Jesus came, He found that he had already been in the tomb four days. 18 Now Bethany was near Jerusalem, about two miles away. 19 And many of the Jews had joined the women around Martha and Mary, to comfort them concerning their brother. 20 Then Martha, as soon as she heard that Jesus was coming, went and met Him, but Mary was sitting in the house. 21 Then Martha said to Jesus, "Lord, if You had been here, my brother would not have died. 22 "But even now I know that whatever You ask of God, God will give You." 23 Jesus said to her, "Your brother will rise again." 24 Martha said to Him, "I know that he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day." 25 Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. 26 "And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?"
In this section of Scripture we see the famous saying of Jesus, that He is the Resurrection and the Life. Mary says to Jesus, if only. This is one of the three if only’s in this section. We always think if only, but God can even take the bad and turn it to His good “if only” we will trust Him and let Him do His work His way. He lets Mary know that even though her brother had been dead for four days it was not too late. Are you facing a situation that seems hopeless, that time is running out and it is not going the way you want it to? Remember Jesus may be four days late in our way of thinking, but He is always right on time in working things out the right way, GOD’s WAY….. Ephesians 3:20-21 Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, 21 to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
