Hello friends! Welcome to another SXSW 2018 double-header. First up, honoring that old school Motown sound and working it into something of their very own, The Teskey Brothers are an unexpected revelation from Melbourne, Australia! Drummer Liam Gough joins me for a great conversation about this band's amazing independent rise. Their latest album, the soulful, Half Mile Harvest has made it to #1 on the Australian indie album chart, they've been selling out big venues all over Australia and after SXSW they were heading out to Los Angeles to open for Los Lobos! Find their music, tourdates, videos and more by going to theteskeybrothers.com. Next up on this SXSW double-header is Philidephia rock and roll band, Sire recording artists, Cold Fronts! Their latest album, the brilliant and rocking, Fantasy Du Jour, comes out Friday, April 20th. The first single from the album, "Staying In" (which happened to be the story of my life the day these guys came in) is out now and you can find music, videos and tourdates at coldfronts.us. We have a great conversation about getting discovered by Seymore Stein himself at SXSW a few years ago, making records and touring on a major label in the era of social media, the return of rock and roll and much, much more! I had a great time getting to know all of these fine people. I'm sure you will too. Let's get down!
Ciao! -JG
