Ireland has much more to do when it comes to rolling out initiatives to reduce CO2 emissions from vehicles.
That’s according to the Fine Gael MEP Deirdre Clune who’s on the European Parliament’s Transport Committee. MEPs last week voted to have cleaner cars on EU roads by 2030.
They’re proposing setting a target of 40% (forty percent) for reducing EU fleet-wide CO2 emissions for new cars by 2030.
The European Parliament also voted for a speedier market uptake of electric and low-emission cars. Deirdre Clune says Ireland isn’t doing enough to reduce CO2 emissions in the transport area.
