Raw audio – Lynn Boylan on vote today in the European Parliament in Strasbourg on a range of moves to ban the sale of single-use plastics like cutlery, straws and cotton bud sticks.
One of the proposals called for labelling to be put on balloon packaging that would warn against releasing them into the air.
However the majority of MEPs rejected that move in today’s vote.
Lynn Boylan is claiming balloon lobbyists leaned on MEPs to vote against the initiative saying it would upset children.
