EU forces pursuing “militaristic and very aggressive” foreign policy agenda – Carthy

There are forces within the EU that are intent on pursuing an aggressive militaristic foreign policy agenda.

So says Sinn Fein's MEP for the Midlands North-West Matt Carthy. He was commenting on the recent address to the European Parliament by the German Chancellor Angela Merkel.

During her speech on the future of Europe last Tuesday, Mrs Merkel told MEPs that establishing a real European army, as an addition to NATO, “would show the world that there will never be war again between European countries”.

Matt Carthy says her sentiments reflect a wider EU agenda.
