I think in the 90s you’ve gotta give a lot of credit to things like The X-Files and Weekly World News for driving interest and knowledge of certain subjects. But once Web took off, I think the speed at which we go through these obsessions changed, and our evaluation of their authenticity also changed with our access to information.

I have to check my own hubris or acknowledge the absurdity of thinking my art, painting, can have any impact on society, in influencing social constructs, or ethics when it appears there does exist more than a few well organized and well funded machines adept at latest psyop techniques to steer society far more effectively than I ever could.
