I wanna clarify as one of the people who felt uncomfortable with Stacy’s Mom - the song is definitely makes sense and having a thing for an older person when you’re a teen is normal. I never thought he would actually get with Stacy’s Mom. I did get the film reference and the Cars reference. All I’m saying is the thought of me being the object of someone’s unrequited sexual desire feels gross. Whereas ”Debbie” from 1985 being depressed and thinking about her failed childhood dreams is relatable
