The episode about Jungkook was awful, xenophobic racist rubbish. ’Kara’ wants to gatekeep K-pop and doesn’t consider anything produced after 2nd gen ”pure” enough for her little box of what she considers K-pop to be. For a non-Korean person to opine on whether or not a Korean person has forgotten their roots or not is disgusting and insulting.

What I hear in Whitney's take of the "SSB" is pure untrammeled triumphalism--which would certainly have been in perfect lock-step with her presentation of both self and aesthetic integrity at the time, after all. "My Country, right or wrong" is what I interpret the "there" that is there. And it is brilliantly accorded so certainly. But so what?
