I agree with you too, for me the thing that stood out was the person trying to explain why the girls were taken out of a lesson with a male teacher. Iāve had explicitly and covert racist and sexist teachers in mixed gender and āmulticulturalā schools that seem worse than what happened here like forcing kids to do mock communion and threaten to get kicked out if you didnāt do Christmas carols in year 7 at a church. Itās Britain, not Muslims that makes this normal and Sue just took it to be race
Yeah I agree especially at the comment from the head that the girls class being taken out was normal. It definitely wasnāt. I do agree that itās normal to separate classes in the UK especially when it comes to sports past age 11, but I have had single classes with teachers of different gender and they just seemed to accept the narrative. Iāve also had teachers specifically make focuses on teaching white kids and males above females and people of colour in a regular academy school. Systemic
Fantastic podcast series, showing the best of investigative journalism.
Absolutely amazing. I benefitted from beginning to end. Gives hope to those involved in journalism that the truth can come out no matter how many people try to keep it quiet. I gained a much deeper understanding of what this upsetting incident really did for everyone in UK and how we need to be united in standing up for the truth regardless of the obstacles that come our way
This made the History books
Thank U for opening a conversation regarding diverse communities to cultural backgrounds
Enjoying the show, except Hamza need to learn to speak slowly. Had to rewind a few times to understand the sentences.
I really appreciate the transparency & the tenacity of this investigative report. Itās hopeful to me that journalism still exists.
Isnāt every human being capable of āpre-violenceā? A rhetorical question, of course. Itās a strange concept.
Listen again, because to me, it sounds like youāre a Sue. And I hope youāre not that petty and bitter, for your sake
When Sue said āI have friends who are muslimā oh lordy lord š§
Really great journalism. Thank you for shedding so much light on this crazy affair. Best of luck Ahmed in whatever you do next
Welcome back to another series from serial, where, after spending unthinkable amounts of Breim energy, nothing resolves... š. Itās very good journalism though! Amazing sub plot of journalism 101. I loved it, but man... Sure wish there could be an serial series where something actually resolved.
I need more Hamza & Brian!!! I hope all educators (and everyone else!) listens. I certainly found it interesting, as an ex-teacher in a Birmingham school with a Headmaster who made a name for himself out of attaching himself to the Trojan Horse āscandalā, unsurprisingly on the wrong side of the truth. Ahmed is right - the truth will out!!! ā¤
Iām really enjoying your show. I admire your perseverance!
I started listening with an open mind ..shocked on places, particularly about Gove/ gvmt response. But think the presenters have not been able to appreciate living as a women in this country, or the world, has its restrictions...it sounds like within this school regime it was far worse... worrying journalism. I wish a woman had undertaken this report, perhaps less acceptance that itās okay for girls to have to suffer lack of opportunity and equality least... disappointed
