That’s seems to be very common with most of the true crime stories I listen to. It’s so maddening.
The lack of professionalism in this case is astounding. The cops completely mishandled the car and didn't even check it for blood? Crazy. And calling in Tom's mother to say they think he had fetishes and was gay like... Ok, even if he did what has that got to do with the case? Why tell her that unless they had a solid lead to go on regarding those things? The sheriff clearly has it out for their family and just wanted to make them suffer even more.

Lie detector tests are an absolute 100% complete waste of time. Absolute complete waste of time. Everyone who's asked are you involved in the disappearance is involved in The disappearance whether it be trying to figure it out or actually the reason for the disappearance. It's an absurd question.

Very unedyfying that the people investigating Tom's case are accusing each other of unprofessional conduct. I'd be fuming if if I was the family. Confirms to me that these people are all fucking corrupt and frankly fucking idiots. Bunch of hillbilly cowboys who couldn't arrange a piss up in a brewery.
Still would like to know: -was there any DNA or fingerprints taken from the phone? -what did the autopsy show? Even if it were bones, there would probably be a bullet hole found.. -was the "smudge" or supposed lit up luminol area tested for DNA? -why is Dad so out of the story? What was the divorce reasoning? I find it strange that he doesn't like the detective the mom hired.
It's probably suicide. I think he had heard from from somewhere about where Grandpas had died and wanted to be in the same place. The diaper thing is odd, the detective kept calling it a quirk and mom dismissed it as a one time thing but that's not "normal" behavior. I kept thinking back her statement that a family psych. friend said it could be due to unresolved childhood issues... I was on team mom until she said she wouldn't accept it if he were gay, that is so sad and wrong!
I don't think it was suicide. How did the cell phone get to the search area without a scratch or apparently no evidence of being out in the element for all that time? I think, he was in a relationship with that adult man who killed himself. I think he may have had something to do with Tom's murder.
