i know the original comments were posted 2 years ago but as a transgender person who is closeted in real life, the comments seem to have been posted in bad faith, and i wanted to provide an alternative interpretation.
regarding the previous commenter: 1.) well yeah. most transgender people would have preferred to start their transition early to avoid going through puberty twice, especially considering the first time pushed them further away from a body they’re happy in. 2.) this is a teaser/bonus episode; the main series is still about books. 3.) it’s not ”normalising” anything - it’s just a case of preferred language and/or colloquialism. 4.) this is not a podcast about medicine.
One of the things that terrified me about this election was the realization that *my* political literacy is higher than that of the average voter. I generally don’t watch the news. I don’t watch presidential debates. I don’t really get involved in politics unless it’s something that directly impacts my life. Yet, in speaking to coworkers, it was me who had a better grip on the actual policies being voted on. It was a horrible realization.
hey, you found a Simpson’s paradox in the wild vis a vis the income vs propensity to vote for Trump data neato
”A book of staggering malignancy packed into 94 pages of large type” should be the blurb 😂
Michael, you got it backwards. The movie was originally called ”Leon” in France and got localized to ”The Professionnal” in the US.
I’m with Michael here, speedrunning is infinitely superior to glorified, modern-day gladiatorial combat.
As a Gen Z, I can say I disagree with a lot
I enjoyed. I did feel something was slightly overlooked in the small correlations observed between sports and less depression: economic status plays a role in recreational opportunities for kids, and better economic status often is correlated with lower rates of depression.
I got a law degree from Peter Law Lawboy School of Justice!
Loved it
