40 years of Thatcherite economic policy has ruined our country. Funny how it's somehow immoral for the British government to own our electricity grid but the French and German governments can own shares and control our entire energy sector!? The Tory party stole everything worth anything from public ownership and sold it all off to their fat cat mates. Now the young can't afford a house and are priced out of further education so that we get the same old Eton educated professional political operators running everything
We lived on my mother's £16 a week after rent during the 80s because my mother was too proud to accept benefits despite being abandoned by my dear father and working full time. She had been brought up at a time when everyone knew that you were poor because you had to line up for free school meals and had dolie glasses and shoes. I had to leave home to do my A levels because she didn't believe in girls being educated.
