Yay, Emily! My YouTube comment requesting her on the podcast has clearly been manifested. All that aside, awesome job. Love the natural speech cadence as a contrast to video cadence.
Agatha Christie’s novel Cards on the Table has Bridge as a big plot element. and the dummy mechanic is in there so I think it actually is the standard
Great games, great banter, great fun.
Oh Chaps! Did you read the rules to Brian Boru? He’s not marrying the characters on yellow cards. Half of them are male, which would have been taboo back in those unenlightened times. They’re offspring to be married off to secure allies and calm unreliable neighbours. Brian Boru is an engaging, tactical, beautiful game, deserving another play (probably by Ava) to appreciate its depths. You’re probably too busy to give many games the repeat plays they deserve, but I think this one’s great.
I agree with Quinns that generally mixing plastic, wood and cardboard components generally doesn't work, however Spirit Island is a big exception. In SI the indigenous spirits and islanders are wood, while the colonizing forces and the blight they create are plastic, which links really well into the theme.
By another definition, in terms of particle size as used by geologists, sand particles range in diameter from 0.0625 mm (or 1⁄16 mm) to 2 mm. An individual particle in this range size is termed a sand grain.
