Not in to commenting, but just listened to ”The Hochman Affair” and need to commend you guys for doing your reflective work. I live in small town Montana and generally vote and think left. The work you did on this episode is work I have to do every day and was super grateful that you guys took the risk to be honest and open about the craziness which may or may not align with what you believe and do. Thank you for publishing complexity, especially political complexity.
They need to get their own sports classification, other than that, I got no problem with them. UBU and all that.
Have y’all come across Frederick Crews’ ”Freud: the Making of an Illusion”? He makes a pretty convincing case that Freud’s primary aim wasn’t scientific or philosophical but financial: he put forth various theories in the hopes of making fame and fortune, finally sticking w Psychoanalysis when it proved the most lucrative. He focused on rich clients, abused some of them, and falsified his notes to bolster his claims. Capitalism thus pushed him away from empirical science, towards quackery.
Oh my glory, is this someone who thinks sucking is lame in 2021? A fossil indeed!
