Great episode, but fact check stated the verse doesn’t appear in the Bible, only in the book of Mormon. It does appear in the Bible. ”Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn” appears in Romans 12:15 in the New International Version (NIV).

Astrology is increasing in popularity in part because computers have made it available to everyday people for the first time in history. Also agree with David Brooks that today’s current crazy world is driving people to find meaning in this chaos. Astrology can point to when things will happen and the archetypal energies at play.

Great, as usual. Very thought provoking conversations. I enjoy the back and forth banter between Steven and Angela.

I love Angela and Steven’s conversations and hearing the supporting evidence they find or know.

I really hope that author was trying to facetious when he suggested forgetting ones Morals it hasn’t worked out for the climate and workplaces in general

I don’t get it about Chick-Fil-A, either. They’re only marginally better than McDonald’s.

Anyone who believes there’s no such thing as a stupid question has never been on Quora.com. it’s a cyber cesspool full of stupid, redundant, and insincere questions.

There‘s a global pandemic on the go & several African countries are currently back on a travel red list while the rates of death and infections actually remain way worse in the US, the UK, and Europe. Maybe some stupid questions need to be asked about this neocolonial bias and the accompanying racism? It would be useful to see this podcast take on a wider global view of the science here. I suspect that‘s not gonna happen. Is leaving the familiar parochial point of view just far too difficult?

You cannot serve two masters sounds a lot like our struggles that politicians have

Notes from this episode: -status quo bias ( people are attracted by familiar, hence the fear of change) -endownment effect -we assume that our perception is objectively valid -when people say that they like you and you think as well that they do, there is still the possibility that this is not true -people avoid telling hard truths because it's uncomfortable -self help books make you feel good temporarily -Baudelaire- Life is a hospital
