Great history, painfully terrible banter.

What’s crazy is Gen z is older than the confederacy ever was. But people still say it is their ”Heritage”

The focus of this episode really confused me, but you still made that entertaining! Absolutely hope you cover Mongols, etc, and East Asian history to war - very neglected despite popular demand. Just look at Supernova in the East.

Ah yes... The time Russia and the United Kingdom played Risk with actual nations....

For those that wonder what the SLR rifle used by 1 Para, it’s the British-adopted version of the FN FAL, firing the 7.62x51mm NATO cartridge. This round is still used as the round for M240B/FN MAG medium machine gun. A great history that covers The Troubles is ”The IRA” by Tim Pat Coogan. His section on the Battle of the Bogside is extremely eye-opening. The amount of CS tear gas the British used in that neighborhood over three days is insane.

Joe ur podcast is good and I like it, but saying ”content warning: it’s bad” does not inform. You have to be explicit, like ”mass murder of hostages, mass murder of women, suicide bombs, shooting deaths, children conscripted to dispose of exploded human remains.”
