I appreciate you guys posting this great content. It is needed more than ever in this day.
Solid disagreement with Dr Thomas. You absolutely have the liberty to not pay taxes. The only reason we do is because the state will forceably take them from you via violence, one way or another.
I think this should be titled prayer not baptism?
Mmm, I think the Jesus would say to love God and love others. The priority of our lives is to talk to others about Jesus and what he’s done for is. You’ve made it all a work.
I feel like this removes the joy from the Gospel. Isn’t the good news that our works are but filthy rags because of His gift? Sure, we are obedient, but we fail, we make mistakes, and can be confident that we are still loved and still saved. We need to look to who He is and what he’s done rather than what we do.
I think it’s a somewhat dangerous discussion we’re having here. Does this not then make what our works show become our assurance rather than what Jesus has done for us? The whole idea about self examination in context is about believing the Gospel message. If you don’t believe it, then examine yourself...it’s not about your assurance.
