The depth and detail in this study of Jacob and his family revealed how far away from God they had become. Thanks for teaching about the tribe of Ephraim. Very important and helps clarify actual history of nation of Israel.

That was so rich. The lesson of not living by our wits.. how long does it take us to learn that? All of us continue living our lives acting as our own god, like in Genesis 3. Eventually we are humbled, after much suffering. Then we turn our lives over to God.

Oh man, this really helps me understand how God works in the world dealing with wickedness. We now see it with child trafficking, abortion.

This is so helpful. It gets me thinking in new ways about the details in a parable. More dots connected, thanks to Fr Steven!
