One issue with staying on the dating site: companies like match.com and POF deliberately interfere with any conversation you try to have. Why? They don't want you to find love. They want you to keep paying, so when you connect with somebody you'll find the app is glitching, your messages suddenly disappear or you can't contact the person the next time you try to chat.
I had a friend who was a mod on ok Cupid, and he told me this is common practice.
