I just wanted to add that it was unlikely anything to do with his addiction unless his DOC was methamphetamine. That is one of the few drugs that, if abused, will cause psychosis. If he had an opiate habit, let’s say then the motive (if drug related) would be more like he wanted to steal money or belongings to support his habit. I don’t think that was the case, I really don’t think this crime had to do with his drug use.
You would be surprised how hard it is to hear things like gun shots or screams from inside your home. I’ve lived in a nice mobile home and have had emergencies where I screamed at the tops of my lungs, and no one could hear me. This was confirmed by my partner, who was inside our home. There was an incident where my poor late puppers were having a seizure, I screamed for help, and seriously, no one could hear me even though all the homes were so close to each other. Honestly, it’s creepy.
