Hello, I was induced because I had protein in my urine. This is in the uk. I had spent the first 8 months in Mexico and flew home for the birth. In Mexico I didn’t bother with pre natal care and was fine. In the uk I went to my doctor and the next thing I know I’m being told I have to be admitted to hospital because of the protein and I was induced, gave birth in 3 hours without painkillers and in agony and had a retained placenta lost loads of blood and was rushed into surgery.
Can you talk more about how the pain fuelled endorphins are natural and necessary in childbirth please. I had 2 very different birth experiences, one induced and agony for 3 hours but the endorphins after made the bonding with my baby something I would have done 100 times over. The other birth I had an epidural, couldn’t feel so couldn’t push, took all day, they had to revive my daughter, and although the bonding was still there it wasn’t as overwhelming.
So thankful I found this podcast! So Informative and helpful :)
Thanks for the episode! Wanted to let you know I listened while I was in early labor last week, had an awesome free birth.
While giving birth I wasn’t allowed to be on my feet and couldn’t move because they wanted to monitor the baby. She was born a week early and just over 6lbs. She was, and is, perfect. I wish I had never come back to the UK though.
