A good question. I think people are less likely to return for technical reasons, but also culturally we are always waiting for a remake or a sequel. We value new and better graphics, the old is old, and old is bad

I had loads of £ Codemasters C64 games in the 1980s. We would buy them in local Newsagents. Most were rubbish but some were classics such as Treasure Island Dizzy and Finders Keepers.

Ah, so those patches were a form of early PS/Xbox trophy/achievements? Interesting.

Are video games the only genre that future generations wont return to? Film, tv, music and literature, yes, but games probably not. Unless watched on youtube they’re likely to be gone forever.

I loved ME:A, it was the only game i was ever sad to stop playing. I almost 100% it and enjoyed every minute.

Thanks to you guys for your podcast. I have listened to every episode and it is one of the reasons I finally started my own. I don‘t even collect video games and hardly play them but as a fellow collector I really respect the passion. I was jealous that you had a space to share your passion so I started my own. But of course I am still checking out all of your new ones as well.
