I won’t ever forget early August 1979. Munson died 2 August, I enlisted in the USAF on 3 August. I retired as a Lt Col, so it was the beginning of a very satisfying Air Force career. But the date where it started will always be sort of bittersweet. RIP Thurman Munson.
