In season one of The Record Process, we took a linear stroll through the common practices and philosophies behind making records. We followed the spark of creativity from inception to conclusion, offering up our personal experiences along with generally accepted production ideologies. As we neared the end of season one, it was clear we had only begun to scratch the surface… With room for nuance and a myriad of variables behind every creative scenario, there are endless possibilities to uncover. There is only one way for us to continue this journey - we have to go deeper…

With season 2 of The Record Process we’ll attempt the impossible by simultaneously expanding and contracting the scope of the show - First, we’ll be narrowing our focus by dedicating each weeks episode to the story behind the making of ONE uniquely groundbreaking album. Through this format, we’ll be expanding the range of voices and perspectives involved in bringing these masterpieces to life: sitting down with artists, musicians, songwriters, producers, engineers, and other creative collaborators to understand how the production process has the power not only to shape the way these records sound, but the way they are received by audiences as well.

Our new interview-based framework will serve as a more dynamic weekly reminder that when it comes to the craft of making music that moves people, the possibilities are endless…
