Passing the Baton - Elijah: Part 5 - Woodside Bible Church Warren

Our world functions from our labor. We work each day to provide for our families. We encourage hard work and to do a job well done. We put a lot of emphasis on our career and how it will carry us. In the same way, we work hard at our job, we have a similar call as followers of Christ; to carry out God's mission He has for His followers. God calls us to spread His gospel and love to all the nations. He desires more people to come to know Him and to follow Him. God wants us to press into this call with fervor and obedience. As we continue in our series, Elijah, we will see Elijah’s obedience to God's whisper. After a time of isolation, as we saw last week, God speaks to Elijah and calls Him to seek out Elisha who would be a prophet in Elijah’s place. Through Elijah’s following of God's instruction, we learn that God's call can be trusted, His call demands commitment, and God's assignments involve development.
