The LSU Tigers end their regular season with a win over the Texas A&M Aggies in Tiger Stadium on Saturday afternoon. The Tigers took down the Aggies 42-30 after a momentum shift surged Jayden Daniels and the Tigers over their SEC West-foe, finishing the season with a 9-3 record. Finishing 9-3 is big, especially since they will have an opportunity to get to ten wins for the second time in Brian Kelly's two seasons with LSU if they win a bowl game. But why was beating Texas A&M that much more important for this team and for the narrative around Kelly's production at LSU?
Heisman Trophy-hopeful Jayden Daniels was left on the sideline for much of the first half as multiple long drives from the Aggies ate up clock and limited Daniels' opportunities to take over the game – at least until they couldn't. Daniels finished the day completing 16 of his 24 pass attempts for 235 yards and four touchdowns. He also continued to do magnificent things with his legs putting up 120 rush yards on 11 rushes with a majority of those yards coming on a 50-yard near touchdown run. Malik Nabers also had a fantastic day propelling him to the leader in receptions in LSU history with his six receptions for 122 yards and two touchdowns.
