Jeanine Lobell, the founder of iconic brand Stila, is this week’s guest and it’s one of the best conversations I’ve ever been lucky enough to have. Jeanine started out as makeup artist – and still is today – and in 1994 she changed the face of beauty with her whimsical, functional brand.
In this episode I ask Jeanine to take us all the way back to the ‘90s – what did it take to build a beauty brand back then? Was it easier or more difficult compared to today? How much did Estée Lauder pay her for her brand in 1999??
Jeanine is the definition of an innovator and I feel that future beauty founders could learn so much from her. She shares so many amazing, inspiring and fun stories of the decades she has spent in the beauty industry, and also shares what she would do differently if Stila launched today.
If you love this episode I would love it if you could write a review on Apple Podcasts or leave a review over on Spotify. It makes a big difference.
While you’re at it, if you subscribe to BeautyMe wherever you listen, you’ll never miss another episode. Be sure to head to TikTok to see my video content with Jeanine @charissekenion and definitely check out this week’s newsletter where I share some really lovely insights from Jeffrey Fulvimari, the illustrator who created the legendary Stila girls.
