(Turned) author and motivational speaker, Leon R Walker Jr talks about his compelling story of being a disadvantaged African-American youth. Fighting for a better life, out of a very impoverished Cleveland, OH neighborhood, Walker relies on "innate survival instincts of a child". Faced with some incredible adversity, Leon's story navigates a path of being sexually abused by the unthinkable to finding mentorship, guidance and inspiration from a most unlikely source: a gay man. Walker overcomes his socio-economic challenges to find a way to blossom serving the country he loved, in the United States Navy. He now spends his days working to uplift those in need.
