Up first: antisemitic Catholic priest Jozef Tiso, who spent decades fighting for Slovak autonomy after the dissolution of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Little did Tiso know that in order to secure that autonomy, he’d find himself cozying up to Adolf Hitler.
