Tiffany shares that she has been overweight her entire life. Her mother was constantly on a diet, and Tiffany never wanted to follow in her footsteps. Tiffany was always active, ate healthy, never dieted, and learned to love herself the way that she was.
However, in December of 2017, Tiffany found herself at what she calls “The Ledge.” About to turn forty, Tiffany experienced an emotional breakdown. She came to the realization that she would not survive if she continued on her current path. Tiffany decided to seek therapy to heal from some emotional issues. This in turn helped her to begin a new health journey. "You can't heal from what you conceal." Tiffany desired to heal from the inside out.
In December of 2019, Tiffany found Dr. Fung, and began living a LCHF (Low Carb High Fat) lifestyle. It worked at first, but was not sustainable for her. Tiffany then came across Gin's IF Stories Podcast, read Delay, Don't Deny, and joined the DDD Facebook group. She officially began IF in January of 2020.
Tiffany has gone from 324 pounds to 298 pounds, and from a size 22/24 to a size 16/18. She follows 19:5 and 20:4, having lunch and a small dinner.
Tiffany has many non-scale victories: "I am healing from the inside out. I never want to go back to The Ledge. I'm more active, have more energy, and I try new things. I have peace. I'm enjoying the IF journey."
Tiffany's advice to new IFers: "If you're struggling with closing your window, use an app. Or brush your teeth! Utilize resources and gain knowledge. Use other things to measure progress, not just the scale. Have a healthy mindset."
