EPISODE 268 - Becky Burroughs - This is Next Chapter Living - resources and services to equip and empower you as a leader
This is Next Chapter Living
I have held a variety of leadership roles for 40+ years, as a small business owner, non-profit leader, and in several different church ministry roles. I know first-hand that your leadership role is hard work. It is not enough to be good at what you do; you have to also know how to lead and develop those under your leadership. I became a certified life/leadership coach to help other women, like you, along the journey of leadership.
As a leadership coach, I serve as a guide, helping you identify the strengths and weaknesses in your leadership and navigate a path to fully living into this call to lead. We begin with inner work, because you must first learn how to be the BOSS of your self-destructive thoughts so you can give your best before you can effectively be the BOSS who influences others to give their best.
As a life coach, I work with those of you navigating Life’s Next Chapter. A few years ago, I had a full-blown identity crisis when all of the roles and titles I held were stripped away. I realized I had placed my identity in all of these roles and did not know who I truly was without them. The dream I had always had for my life was shattered and I had no idea what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. Since then, I have learned the value of my story and I can honestly say I have never felt more authentically me than I do in this moment! I have a clear calling, a strong passion, a definite purpose and am living the dream of this next chapter of my life, and you can too.
Your God-given identity is the only one that will be with you throughout your life. Prayerfully discern why he thinks the world needs what only you have to offer and become passionate about that!

Book: Come Back Home To You - Whether expected or unexpected, a life transition can knock you off your feet. Even planned changes, such as moving to a new city, are hard—but changes you didn’t ask for, such as divorce or loss of a loved one? Those can be devastating.
Like many women, Becky Burroughs loved her husband, enjoyed being a mom, and had a successful career. Then, within a few years, her parents died, her position was eliminated, and her husband left their forty-year marriage. Her children were already grown, and she was alone for the first time in her life.
Shattered by grief and unable to shake her fears, she realized that she’d immersed herself so deeply in her various roles as daughter, wife, mother, and professional that she no longer knew who she was without them.
But changes don’t have to be paralyzing. In Come Back Home to You, Becky draws on her personal experience and conversations with dozens of women, as well as her expertise as a life coach, to help you navigate your own life changes, anchored in your true identity as created by God.
You’ll learn about the importance of mindset, how to deal with fear, how to intentionally incorporate joy into your life, and much more. Each section ends with questions for reflection to help you honor your experience, redefine who you are, and design your next life chapter.
Becky Burroughs is a professional life and leadership coach for Christian women whose mission is to encourage and empower women to love themselves as God loves them: unconditionally. Her essay “Embrace Healing Adventures” appeared i
