One summer in the late 1970s, a young man named Matt Shair stood up to a bully in defending his friend Dave. Today, more than 40 years later, Dave dials up Matt to finally thank him. Oh by the way Matt is a scientist at Harvard University who studies the mechanistic basis of human diseases, identifies new druggable targets and develops therapeutics. So yeah, he's done pretty well for himself.
