Heroin is a dangerous drug. Started in 1898 by the Bayer Corporation in Germany it was initially created as the new wonder drug to try and combat pain.
What it did was create a litany of addicts; over a 100 years later, society is still trying to take back what it created. A monster; a serial killer in its own right, it ravages households, minds and lives.
Layne Staley from the grunge rock band Alice in Chains said it himself, "What started out as a party turned into a nightmare."
Here the Right Shoe under the guise of SMAK podcast goes over the beginnings of heroin...and how it all started.
