This special episode is in collaboration with our good friends over at The Minds of Madness, a true crime podcast.
On the morning of January 17th, 2012, Lauren Kornberg and her mother were walking a pack of 9 dogs in the direction of the iconic Hollywood sign in Los Angeles, California. As they veered just off the trail, a Golden Retriever in the group suddenly bolted off and started digging frantically. When the Goldie emerged from the underbrush, he was proudly carrying back something in his mouth …a bag containing a severed human head.
The day before, 66-year-old Hervey Medellin had been reported missing. No one had seen or heard from him since December 26th, 2011. And as more body parts were eventually uncovered, the whereabouts of Hervey would soon become all too apparent.
