You should have a handful of options as well because if you only have one, then you will have your heart set on it and if it doesn’t come off you will be shattered and struggle to keep going. It may take reviewing 10 farm opportunities before you get your farm.
There is nothing stopping you understanding farm opportunities in the area you want to farm. You have the internet and you can connect with anyone who can help you understand the farm opportunity.
We have developed posters that we want you to put up on notice boards all over your district.
The aim is to get the attention of retirement-aged farmers. We know that many of them still read the noticeboards in town. They are more used to seeing information that way than online. So let’s get the information to where they want it.
If you can get the retiring farmers talking about Cultivate Farms then they will be keen to post their farm and then you will have a chance at getting on a farm in the district you want to farm.
Help us to help you to get on your dream farm. Use us to open doors for you in a really easy way.
Download and print 20-30 and have them in your car with some bluets and sticky tape so you can post all over the place

Where could you post them?
We believe that you need to get yourself in front of the people who could connect you to your farm ownership opportunity.
Two groups of people that could do that are succession planners and accountants. Sometimes they are the same people.
Do a google search for both of these people for your district, send them an email and call them to book in a time to chat over coffee.
Tell them that you are an awesome aspiring farmer, outline all you are doing to build your skills and then say that you are looking to find farmers who are looking to step back and work with them to help transition their farm.
Tell them the bigger story that everyone is looking for solutions to keep young people on farms and get them onto farms and this could a practical way to make it happen.
These succession planners and accountants have direct access to these farmers everyday. They just don’t know that you want to get on their farm. Imagine what could happen when they are convinced you would be a great solution for their farmers.
You are bringing them a solution. That is how you should look at this. It won’t be for everyone, but unless you are out there promoting yourself, who is going to find opportunities for you?
Get out there and get in touch with all the succession planners and accountants in your district.
